so Ive decided after a loooooong break that ill be posting again on this blog. I'm not sure if anyone still pays me a visit but even if its me talking to myself I think being able to have an extra outlet for expression will be good for me. So here we go!

After a loooong break from everything fashion and now that its 2011 I think its time to start anew and get this giant ball of creativity on a roll! This is one of my first projects. Hello fellow readers! After many hours of contemplation about myself, what i want out of my life and what i want to do with my life ive come to some really interesting and exciting conclusions. I know I want to design but i cant get over how annoyed and bombarded i feel by media, pop culture. I dont want to sound all arty fartsy but while thinking things over with a friend we came to agree on the fact that we are ridiculously dependent on mass media and pop culture. So dependent, that when we're trying to brew up some form of creative ideas we were in reality recycling everything we've seen in magazines, blogs, tv, for the past few years. In response to this I've come to the conclusion that ill be taking a break as best as possible from an excess of fashion media (that includes me posting on this blog! ). It'll be a breath of fresh air and i think ill discover what exactly this creative seed inside me is capable of growing into without a bunch of commercial influences. It will be interesting to see how all of this affects me, and i know its well needed. As irritated as i feel already knowing i wont be checking up on all of the blogs i follow or the fashion sites i frequent, i know that ill honestly discover something about myself and around me, instead of what some CEO of a company wants me to feel about myself and what's around me( if that makes sense). So ill see you all in a month! My friend and i will be posting our reflections on how all of this goes on another blog here feel free to follow it you like.

I had never heard or Theyskens Theory but I came across their SS2011 collection and im seriously loving every single thing I see! The shapes, the fit, the colors...its everything I love and would want for myself! I think I looked through the photos of the show about 10 times. I am officially a huge fan of Theyskens Theory and I cant wait to see more for them in the future!

So today was day one of Hautelanta Fashion Week! I had a super great time and worked my butt off too! Hautelanta Fashion week showcases various up-and-coming Georgia designers for a five day long event. I saw a lot of looks on the runway I thought were really nice the crowd was great! Here are a few pics and vids I managed to snap of the red carpet, some of my favorite looks, and other randomness.. enjoy. By the way, this event took place In Atlanta, Ga just to let you guys know! So an amazing Rad coat costs about 600 and his to die for MYKITA collab sunglasses that graced his spring 2011 show are about 500..they are amazing and I would seriously DIE for them!!! ( ok maybe not die..) but In all honesty where is the value? The difference is what, only a hundred bucks...i dont get why they're basically the same price? Which one isn't priced right? Then again who the heck am I to question the pricing...I'm sure both the jackets and sunglasses costed a pretty penny to make...or do they? Ok so I'm done over analyzing something I really don't have to right or business analyzing ( but as a prospective buyer..who could never afford to buy either anyways, I do have the right...right?!)

Anyways! When I saw the show the first thing I did was wipe the drool of my face because of how ridiculously cool the shades are...RAD I LOVE YOUR AESTHETIC!!!!! I LOVE YOUR BRAIN!!! ( in a completely normal way... )

Here are a few of my faves from Givenchy's SS2011 menswear collection... ill be honest and say i wasn't really feeling this show/collection too much. The models looked too un model like.. and some of the pieces were just soo not Givenchy, like this weird t shirt that looked like something a fan of insane clown posse would wear!!! Over all there were some looks I enjoyed but there were definitely some looks that had me a little confused. Below are the ones that left me somewhat satisfied....

I'm blown away with the work of Mihara Yasuhiro...this spring summer 2011 collection was amazing. The story was beautiful and I'm just super inspired. All I can say is wow, it was an honest collection and show. It wasn't about trying to set this ideal or image it was just super natural and honest. I can't explain exactly how it left me feeling...all I can say is that it's a incredible feeling.

I know this is old but how could you not love every single look that came down the Kris Van Assche fall 2010/11 runway. Every single theing was dead on. it was clean, wearable, simple, dark, and basically some of the shall I say "coolest" clothing ever. I was soo disappointed when I saw the Puma by: Hussein Chalayan tennis shoes. They look like old people orthopedic shoes! Hussein Chalayan is an amazing designer but I'm not feeling these shoes at all! I like the color but the overall shape and the fact that they looks soo heavy and dull make me really unhappy. What do you guys think...is it just me or do theses shoes look like they're made for senior citizens...

Hey guys!!!! Soooo I'm still stuck in Ohio. But I'll hopefully be back to my office by Wednesday! Can't wait. I swear if a see one more person wearing a salty dog cafe t shirt I just might snap! Haha but seriously maybe so many people wear that shirt because its the only great place to go in Ohio..wait is it even in Ohio? My partner and I should be meeting up in the next few days to talk about 3-S and and getting it started so stay tuned for that! I'll be back soon.. But until then I'll have to keep myself busy by over-listening to k pop and seeing how much junk food I could possible eat in one day! Gotta love the south Koreans and their entertainment lol. So you guys may know i'm currently on a "family trip" to Ohio... and let me tell you.. i'm having the most miserable trime ever.. having little to no internet connecton, seeing how Ohio really doesnt have much going on...and as much as I want to say being with my family makes me happy...well being with them 24-7 doesn't. I think im going crazy and I cant wait for my trip to Chicago on thursday...now... in regards to the only thing that can lift my spirits right about now is FASHION.. to make myself feel a bit better I browsed through net a porter .com and here are a few things I really loved... these two black Jimmy Choo bags, one is the Blythe bag and I cant rememeber the name of the other, also this super cute Chloe cherry bag, this Judith Leiber wildcat crystal clutch and these Mark Jacobs hounds tooth brogues! Thanks to everyone whos visited my blog while i've been on "vacation" when I get back to my office i'll be sure to post more often!!!

Malandrinos resort 2011 collection was really great. There were a few graphic t shirts and tanks that I would love to own! The collection was very sexy which is something im not really that into but for some reason this sexy was different, it was cool and relaxed. Overall I loved how easy everything seemed and the models looked great minus the one who looked like she had a case of gangrene on one of her legs. lol. I'm not kidding! She had a bad leg!

There were two looks I found really interesting form Cynthia Rowleys 2011 resort collection. While going through her collection I couldnt help but feel like the looks were similar to what they call the Dolly-Kei street style, which is what i'd consider a mix between little house on the prairie and Renascence (don't ask :S) themed looks, And well thats just not my cup of tea. Regardless of the Dolly-kei felling I got, I found these two looks very interesting. what do you guys think?

So i'll admit it.. im a tad bit jealous of Chloë Sevigny, I mean look at her, she's gorgeous and well...someone im very fond of likes her...a lot! You cant help but find something about her extremely mysterious and intriguing and because of this I really envy her Ugh! (not in a bad ay though). Any ways, she has a really amazing sense of style and to be honest I really don't think she tries too hard to be stylish. I like that a lot about her. She seems like the type who knows what she likes and it just so happens to look great! Chloë Sevigny recently came out with a collection for Opening Ceremony and I love the pieces in it. It's got something great in it for every one, a little leather, some floral prints, skirts, and leggings! here are some of the looks I really liked. Oh did I mention she modeled the clothing herself..yeah..I know right. you guys can check these photos out while I go shove my face with Oreos...sigh*

Birthday dinner at Imperial Fez..what a night!

Last night I took my mother out to this restaurant called Imperial Fez for her birthday. Its was soo nice! I literally felt like I was in a Moroccan lounge and was having dinner and a show, and when we left we'd be hit by the hot Moroccan air...of course that didn't really happen because we were only in Atlanta,Ga haha. Any ways it was a really great experience with good food and had a really great environment. I'd definitely go back. Here are some pics and videos!! BTW there was a point where the belly dancers danced with swords ON FIRE-i got in on video!!! yeah it was really great. for the readers who are wondering what the heck is on my head..its a scarf, im muslim~surprise! :P

To be honest this collection was a little too obviously vampire inspired and something about how some of the models were styled was just not on point in my opinion. I did have a few looks that I really liked. Over all the collection was an good collection when it comes down to separates and great outerwear.

I'm honestly not sure why because i'm blown away by all of their performances and songs, but this song is really beautiful and it being acoustic and live makes me love it much much more. I like Jeffrey Campbell shoes, they're innovative and make a statement but when I saw this I was like "why". Why did Jeffery Campbell have to go and tamper with Alexander Mcqueens shoe? I just don't get it. Did he think people were going to be like"oh Jeffery Campbell made a shoe that looks just like it, after Alexander made his masterpieces, so i'm going to get a cheaper, clunky, black suede version!" No...at least thats not what i'm saying. Why on earth would I spend money on anything but the actual ones, I mean its not like getting an off brand box of tissues or some knock off Ray Bans! Its Alexander McQueen and its just kinda odd that Jeffery Campbell would even try to make anything resembling Alexander McQueens shoes, but it's a "tribute" shoe so I guess that makes it less awkward...

This is by far my favorite Gaga music video. When I first heard the album I was like she needs to make a music video for this song and she did! The reason I think this is her best music video to date even compared to Bad romance is because it wasn't about the fashion, it wasn't about trying to be weird, it was all about the Arts and I really appreciate that. The reason I like gaga is because I love the passion she has for the arts, not because of what she's wearing or how crazy or different she is. The dancers in this music video are AMAZING! Gaga was styled brilliantly and not over dressed or over "branded", this music video did not disappoint at all. A+ in my opinion!

So I have a minor obsession with all things leather. So bad that I just about cried inside of store because I saw this leather jacket I could only imagine owning. haha. Any ways I would love to own this "nolex" leather covered faux watch bangle designed by Natalia Brilli. It's so unique! I mean its like a leather bangle only its in the shape of a watch and way more cool than a plain old watch or bangle. Just imagine stacking it with other leather bracelets and maybe a few metal pieces...that would look amazing!

I heard about Rick Owens flagship store opening in Seoul.. .but I had no idea Lee Hyori or YB and GD would be guests... not that they wouldn't be or anything...I just wasn't expecting it, any ways... YB and GD looked amazing decked out in Rick Owens. I also have to admit GD has an great sense of style...I know he probably has amazing stylists but im pretty sure he'd look amazing without them. I saw a few photos of Lee Hyori at the event too but to be honest I wasn't feeling her getup... it was a little overdone in my opinion, and if you're going to show up to a Rick Owens event then you really need to have your look look effortless because every thing Rick Owens does is effortlessly badass with a little space-age grunge mixed in. Anyways.. I love Rick Owens and i'm pretty sure i'd pass out if I could even be in the same area where a Rick Owens item is sold haha. Check the photos out of GD and YB here, I even threw in a photo of Lee Hyori so you could see what I mean by overdone and trying a little too hard. :P

It's basically summer time guys!!! Im glad and all but at the same time I'm kinda of panicking..I dont know what to wear! I'm not really into any of the looks that are trending right now... they're just not me. leggings are a big NO. Florals are just not my thing and well i'm thinking of abandoning all summer trends and stick to my beloved leather and jeans. I'm just a sucker for darks and neutrals... pastels and fluorescents look great on me but I just cant get myself to buy any... WHATS WRONG WITH ME! Guys i need help now...I guess its ok for me to not go with the flow of the seasons trends...right :S thats what fashion is all about.. doing your OWN thing. I guess I just need to figure out a way to stay cool in the meantime.

Remember when I blogged about having to pay to watch this live interview on showstudio.com of Lady Gaga... well today was a free 2 hour live stream of an interview with Gaga herself. After waking up extremely late from staying up till around 5am watching the k pop drama Coffe Prince on Hulu I stopped by showstudio.com to view the interview. I was a little skeptical because sometimes gaga really gets on my nerves, at least when it comes to interviews. I enjoy Gagas music and I love the fact that she has this passion for music, fashion, and the arts, but why does she have to be so....how should I say this....fake. when I say fake I don't mean like she's lying about everything she says or she is two faced but she's a NY gal and she puts on this odd british accent...I just don't get it. I get that british accent are cool and all, and maybe she thinks it will give her brownie points and make her seem more avante garde or something but when you're talking to a british person it's just plain odd especially if they know you're from NY! Then she stated something about how she wants to be known as peaceful...really Gaga... peaceful your performance at the mtv vma's was nothing close to peaceful, I mean she hung herself at the end. lol But is was an amazing performance!!!! It's like half the time I don't even listen to Gaga because I feel like everything that comes out of her mouth is a bunch of bull to make a show out of even the simplest thing called an interview, and i'd be better off meeting her in a coffee shop in NY without any cameras to really get a feel for how truly amazing she is, minus the costumes and makeup and weird accent. Gaga I really do like you, but sometimes I just wanna tell you to cut the crap.. your music is amazing and I love the passion you put into everything you do. I'm a fan... i really am!

Yesterday I went to the mall with a friend and as much as the mall drives me nuts for not having anything unique I came across this jacket that literally had me hyperventilating! This leather jacket from BEBE...yes.. BEBE!! is like a piece of heaven on earth I cried a little when I left the store :( all I know is the next time I get paid, I will hunt this jacket down!!!!!! and make sure it is mine for good haha!!!!!!!! Until then i'll stare at the photos I took of it and imagine its on me lol.

You all should know about my minor k pop obsession by now, and well...when I came a cross T.O.P. in a Vogue magazine spread and B2ST in Marie claire I had to make a tough decision on which one to choose to put in my blog...soooo I chose the bad boys of B2ST, because more is more right..lol any ways.. they looked AMAZING! I love they way the spread was styled...I wasn't offended at all by the lack of clothing haha ( i'll admit I really enjoyed it!) but when it comes down to it, it's all about the FASHION and they guys looked great! The first look that came down the runway was absolutely amazing. The jewelry was

So after checking out rag and bones first ever women's runway show i'm super pumped for this fall! I mean... the layers, the dark colors, the leather, and boots...what more could be want... I loved how they threw in a hint of army fatigue and how it had a schoolgirl feel to it... check it out!

Ok, so while I was browsing away today I stopped by youreyeslie.com... I was looking at what they had in their women's site. I honestly couldn't even pay attention to the clothes because of the raggedy old looking models! I mean seriously... what happened to models looking young and fresh! Those models looked old, sunburnt, and tired... one of them looked like she came right out of a 711 and they snapped a pic of her in this t shirt. Visit the site yourself to see what i'm talking about...you will be amazing at how horrible these girls look. Im not huge fan of criticizing an artists work or some form of creative expression but gosh.. I was really turned of by this...very disappointing.

This is hands down my favorite music video...ever. Placebo is and will always be one of my favorite bands. They are timeless... they never try to change their image to fit the new music market. I guess they do have a 90's feel but its like the smashing pumpkins (who are also one of my favorite bands ever!) their roots are in the 90s so I guess its only natural. I love this video..and song they're both so inspirational.Check it out.

So as I was going through my itunes today I starting thinking...as I scrolled through around 2 thousand songs I noticed how much I've changed and grown and how I've gone through my own mini evolution. Its really interesting. I had stuff all the way from Protozoas zoom zoom zoom song to My chemical romance, to the smiths to the scissor sisters to Marylyn Manson. Is that odd? At one point or another I was really into every single song on my ipod whereas now I look at certain songs and im like...wtf was I doing? It made me think about what makes me "me" why do I like the things I like? why can I like one thing one year and the next year have it drive me nuts? What about me will change and what will stay the same. Will I always be something else...if so, im not sure if thats good or bad! I guess its all good if im changing for the better and not the worse....this is such a random post...oh well.

There is nothing like a great sneaker...and to be honest as a girl its hard its find nice sneakers that aren't all bedazzled and decked out in oranges and pinks-not that I don't like those colors. I'm the type of gall who'd go for a guys shoes in a my size...why not.. if it looks good then who cares if its in the mens section.

Even though I should probably be studying for this quiz I have today, I really needed to post these boots from Alexandre Herchcovitch's fall 2010 collection. Im not going to lie and say this collection didn't remind me of John Gallianos fall 09 collection (which was like a dream collection...beautiful) because it did, but that's not the point. The point IS that these boots are super cute. For me, Im not a huge fan of short stubby heels but these are irresistible! Enjoy.

So decided to go out for a bit and check out this new thrift shop I had just read of. To my surprise I found two really awesome pieces. The first thing I came across was this super cute black leather and suede detailed coat with shoulder pads! Something about the shape was just too cool to pass up so I snagged it IMMEDIATELY! Then as I was looking around I came across this half mesh dress that was like INSAME! I had to get that too check em out! Did I mention that everything in the store was 50% off!!!! thanks to "50% off Mondays"!!! I'll definitely be going there waay more often to see what other goodies I can find!

If you stay tuned in you probably know that I have a major obsession with wedges. Huge wedges! I go back and forth with which ones are may favorite but I love the Givenchy peep-toe black and white wedges and the Acne Acatoma wedge. Well I came across Acne's fre fall 2010 wedges and let me just say they're even more amazing then the acatoma wedge! They're for a rough gall and they come in the coolest colors ever!
